Pavilion

The Omed Pavilion is an essential project for generating donations and raising awareness of Omed’s activities. The investment is financed entirely by donations to Omed. In this way, we increase our fundraising efforts to do more for the poor in the Global South. With the equipment, we organize charity raves and perform at city (district) festivals and non-commercial events.

The profits from Omed’s performances—whether solo or in collaboration—go exclusively to our own projects in Afghanistan and India: In Kabul, we run an orphanage for children; in Punjab, we support women who want to become entrepreneurs in self-help groups (SHGs); and in New Delhi, we plan to establish a women’s shelter.

Because everyone at Omed works on a volunteer basis, the pavilion is financially viable. Volunteers handle the sound and beverage equipment, and all other tasks are done on a voluntary basis. Informational materials are also available during events. The pavilion, with its music and drinks, is intentionally aimed at young people. Sales are not at fixed prices but are suggested, so everyone can pay what they can. A sign behind the counter indicates to whom the donation or surplus from drink sales goes.

We are still looking for enthusiastic young people to volunteer for the pavilion crew. No specialized knowledge is required, but volunteers should be willing to operate the complex technical equipment.
